"Lively style, all energy and kick, almost into tartness but not quite, light, juicy, you get the picture. Smoky reduction, cranberry and red cherry, leaf matter and fragrant herbs, twigs. It all flows as one, nothing really pokes out. Fruitier than my description hitherto might suggest but certainly savoury with it. Plenty to admire here."

Senkō is a Japanese word describing a light red colour, bright flash or firecracker and captures the feeling of this juicy Pinot-squared blend. A blend of Pinot Meunier from old vines in the Huon Valley and Pinot Noir from the East Coast of Tasmania. Hand-picked, whole berries fermented with wild yeast in a traditional open top fermenter followed by extended post ferment maceration. Basket pressed directly to old French oak barriques with seven months maturation on lees. Bottled without fining or filtration.
